The funny thing about queers, jocks, and sports bars

What? We're invading Hooters again??!!! Yes, back by popular demand, we are invading Hooters. By far, Hooters is our troops' favorite example of the kinds of places we like to conquer. Perhaps it's because it just seems so not us. The irony is that we always have a great time there and set our (and their) attendance records. I recall that last year, they even re-tuned the wall-mounted TVs to ice skating for us. Now that's what I call jock supportive. Finally, I'm personally aware of Hooters being the anniversary event for two guys who met there and have been a couple ever since. Isn't that sweet? How often do you think that happens for the hets at Hooters?

I read an article yesterday about the homoeroticism of sports. I'm placing it on the recommended reading list in preparation for the invasion. We want to make sure that everyone fully masters the "I'm not gay, but I'm so excited that I have to touch you" head butt and booty slap so that we fit in.

Turtle necks? Don't ask us. It's the uniform of the day. Bonus points to anyone who's actually hiding a hickey.

Well it seems that last month's soiree at the Driskill Hotel ended up being GQB-Austin's Gay Prom Night. How beautiful everyone looked. Mebbe next year we'll take a step closer to actually invading a place with a bona fide gay prom night complete with dates, coursages, and pictures. Who will be our King and Queen?
