Bus Trip to the Boonies!

The bus trip is now just ONE MONTH AWAY. Many of you have expressed interest in chartering a bus and taking a short trip to one of the small towns 20-40 minutes outside of Austin. This Bus Trip to the Boonies will celebrate our THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of invasions by extending our range beyond the comfort of our liberal city's border. The purpose of the bus ride is to help us arrive en masse yet provide safe and comfortable transportation to and from the target venue. Cocktails and other treats will be permitted on the bus. Bus tickets are $20 each, payable only in advance. To reserve your seat, please send an email to drunksonthebus@gorillathing.com and we'll provide you with an address to send your check. BETTER YET, bring $20 cash to the Apple Bar this Friday and we'll secure your seat (ahem), right then and there. The yet-to-be-determined small town venue will have dinner available for the hungry.

It was raining, men

Last month's pub crawl started out slow at the Speakeasy due to rain-averse queers, but gathered momentum by the time we attacked Shakespeare's and filled it to capacity. After 45 very busy minutes for the bartender, we suddenly emptied Shakespeare's and walked directly across 6th Street to Joe's Generic Bar. Easy come, easy go. After enjoying the live music at Joe's, our rainbow-shirted parade crawled on over to Lovejoy's where we camped for the rest of the night. Another successful pub crawl for GQB Austin.

Daddy Tim writes, A few of us realized that Austin really hasn't had much of a gathering space for gay Leatherfolk. So we ask that other gay men and lesbians who are into the scene or who might be interested to meet us monthly in a non-organized social. We especially encourage those who may be new to the scene or not had much experience to join us in a queer-friendly gay space.
