ABOUT TONITE'S INVASION
I've received a handful of emails from concerned guerrillas about tonite's venue. The choice comes from your Council of Daddies and they have spoken. Yes, it will be crowded downtown--there will be many people to cheer Lance on. NO, we do not have reservations at the Stephen F. Austin or guaranteed access to the balcony. As usual, it's a surprise attack--we don't call ahead and tell the venue we're gonna surprise them :-)
That said, we made an informational phone call and confirmed a couple things and put some rumors to rest:
1) The upstairs bar will be open to the public. It will be "first come, first served," she said.
2) The balcony will be open to the public. It will also be "first come, first served," she said.
3) She denied rumors of the bar and balcony being closed due to a Lance Armstrong Foundation private party.
So there you have it.
Wear your hat and riot gear, work your way through the crowds up the stairs of the hotel, and convene by the second floor bar. Relax, buy a drink, watch the parade or watch the parade watchers. We'll either conquer or go down trying. Prizes for the best "going down" stories. The more noticeable your hat, the more likely you'll get noticed. Um, yellow may *not* be the color to wear if you want to stand out.
